Everything you need to know about DAX Coffee — our beans, our roasting process, shipping, and how to brew the perfect cup.

About DAX Coffee

What is DAX Coffee?

DAX Coffee is a specialty coffee brand based in Orlando, Florida. We source single-origin coffee beans from premier growing regions worldwide — Colombia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Honduras — and roast them in small batches to order. Our brand lives at the intersection of specialty coffee culture and the adventure lifestyle.

Where is DAX Coffee located?

We're based in Orlando, Florida. Our coffee ships nationwide, so no matter where you are in the US, freshly roasted specialty coffee is just a few days away.

Is DAX Coffee a specialty coffee brand?

Yes. We exclusively source specialty-grade coffee beans — scoring 80+ on the SCA scale — from traceable, high-quality farms. Every coffee we carry is selected for clarity, complexity, and exceptional flavor.

Our Coffee Beans

What single-origin coffees does DAX carry?

Our current lineup includes Colombian Supremo, Guatemala Antigua, Ethiopian natural process, and Honduras Marcala (arriving soon). Each origin offers a distinct flavor profile — from Colombia's balanced caramel sweetness to Ethiopia's bright, fruity complexity.

What is Colombian Supremo coffee?

Colombian Supremo refers to the largest screen size of Colombian coffee beans, indicating a denser, more developed bean. It typically delivers a smooth, full-bodied cup with notes of caramel, chocolate, and mild citrus — approachable for everyday brewing and excellent as espresso.

What is Guatemala Antigua coffee known for?

Guatemala Antigua coffees are grown in a high-altitude volcanic valley, producing beans with a rich, slightly smoky character, notes of dark chocolate, and a pleasant acidity. It's one of the most consistently excellent origins in Central America.

Do you offer espresso beans?

Yes. Several of our single-origin beans are excellent for espresso, and we also carry blends specifically dialed in for espresso extraction — bold, balanced, and built for the shot.

Are your coffee beans good for cold brew?

Absolutely. Our medium and dark roasts work exceptionally well for cold brew concentrate. We recommend a coarse grind and a 12–18 hour steep ratio of 1:4 coffee to cold water.

Roasting & Freshness

Is DAX Coffee freshly roasted?

Yes. We roast in small batches and ship within days of roasting. You won't find bags sitting on a warehouse shelf for months — what arrives at your door is genuinely fresh.

How long does roasted coffee stay fresh?

Whole bean coffee is at peak flavor from 3 to 30 days post-roast. After that, it's still good but begins losing its more delicate aromatic notes. Store your beans in an airtight container away from heat, light, and moisture — never in the freezer.

Should I buy whole bean or pre-ground?

Whole bean always gives you the freshest cup. Grind just before brewing. If you don't have a grinder, we can grind to your specification — just note it at checkout.

Brewing

What's the best way to brew DAX Coffee at home?

It depends on your setup. For espresso: use a fine grind, 9 bars of pressure, and aim for a 25–30 second extraction. For pour-over: a medium grind, 94°C water, and a 3–4 minute brew time. For French press: coarse grind, 4 minutes steep. Check our Brew Guides for detailed walkthroughs.

What grind size should I use for espresso?

Espresso requires a fine grind — finer than table salt but not as fine as powder. A good espresso grind should feel slightly rough between your fingers. Dial in by adjusting grind size until your shot pulls in 25–30 seconds.

What water temperature is best for brewing coffee?

The SCA recommends 90–96°C (195–205°F). Too hot and you over-extract bitterness; too cool and you under-extract sourness. If you don't have a thermometer, let boiling water rest for 30 seconds before pouring.
